The Yellow Fever (YF) vaccine is recommended for most travelers. The Arrival/Departure airport is Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS), located in Diass, about 27 miles from downtown Dakar. The ride is approximately 1 hour by car.
Airfare is not included in the tour price and must be purchased separately by attendees. Round trip flights typically cost $750 to $1,200.
Delta/Air France, Air Senegal, Royal Air Maroc, Tap Air Portugal, and United/Brussels Airlines seem to have the best routes for this itinerary.
This trip is $2,400 per person for double occupancy and $2,750 for single occupancy. Single occupancy spots are limited.
Yes, hotel and/or villa accommodations for 8 nights are included. All lodging will be well rated for service and quality.
Yes, airport transfers to/from the hotel or villa are included in the package price. If other attendees are arriving in close time, you will likely be transported together. Air conditioned transportation to all activities on the Itinerary is also included.
Daily breakfast is included. Food will also be provided at the Welcome Dinner, Farewell Dinner Party and several lunches. Other meals are at your expense.
Alcoholic beverages are only included for specific activities. Champagne, beer and wine will be included during the Welcome Dinner and Farewell Dinner Party. Other alcoholic drinks are at your expense.
We will spend 9 days in Dakar and its surrounds. In Daker, we will visit city landmarks, museums, monuments, historical sites, and markets and we'll experience African art and culture at the Dak'art Festival. Next we'll move on to the Pink Lake and the Petite Coast where we'll visit a Fulani visit and see salt mine operations. Guests will have the chance to swim or cruise on the lake. We'll also enjoy some beach time and water sports. All entrance and activity fees are included for all excursions on the Itinerary.
Yes, although we have daily guided tours and activities, most evenings and several half-days will be free for you to relax or explore on your own
We suggest that you arrive by 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in order to get checked in to the hotel and refreshed before our Welcome Dinner that evening
Your tour will officially end following breakfast on Sunday, June 1, 2025. You should schedule your flight to depart anytime after 12:00 pm.
While we make every effort to match solo attendees seeking roommates, we cannot promise to find one for you. In the event that no roommate is available, you will be required to pay the single occupancy rate.
Full or partial payment can be made to hold a spot on this trip. If making a partial payment, a non-refundable deposit of $250 USD is required. The deposit is applied towards the total balance due.
Yes, a monthly payment plan is available. Payments are due on the 15th day of each month and all payments must be complete by the final payment deadline of March 1, 2024. All payment plans include a $50 administrative fee.
The trip is non-refundable, but it is transferable. You are permitted to resell your slot to another participant, but Travel Africa Movement is unable to offer a refund. See our Terms and Conditions for more detail.
