April 13 - 21, 2024
We’re giving you a taste of Francophone Africa on this tour. You’ll spend 9 days and 8 nights taking in the sights and sounds of one of West Africa’s most vibrant countries: Côte d’Ivoire aka Ivory Coast. Your tour will start in Abidjan, the largest city and economic capital of Ivory Coast, also known as the Paris of Africa. After a fun-filled Welcome Brunch, we’ll take you to the gems of the city, where you’ll learn about its interesting history and culture, taste its delicious cuisine, and shop at its energetic markets. You’ll experience Abidjan’s lively nightlife and revel with the locals as they celebrate their culture, music and history at the Masa Festival. You’ll also visit Yamoussoukro, the political capital and site of the world’s largest church and the presidential palace. Côte d’Ivoire is the world’s largest cocoa producer and you’ll visit a cocoa farm to see how it’s grown and processed. Next, you’ll head to the coast and enjoy its fabulous beaches. Your time in West Africa will end at our Farewell Party, where you’ll celebrate one last time ahead of your departure home. Come join us for a great time in Ivory Coast.
US citizens are REQUIRED to have tourist visas for travel to Côte d'Ivoire. US visitors can obtain an e-visa online. This multiple entry visa is valid for 90 days and costs 73 Euros (approximately $75 USD). This visa can be extended for 3 months or 1 year for an additional fee. If you are not a US citizen, check the visa requirements for your country.
The Yellow Fever (YF) vaccine is REQUIRED for all visitors and you must present a Yellow Card as proof of vaccination upon arrival. If you do not have proof of YF vaccination, you will be required to receive the vaccine on site at the airport for entry. There is limited availability of the YF vaccine in the US, so plan ahead if you need it. Because Côte d'Ivoire is a high-risk malaria country, a malaria prophylaxis is also recommended (optional). Check the CDC Website for more information about recommended vaccines and anti-malarial medications.
There are currently no vaccination or PCR test requirements for arrival to or departure from Ivory Coast. However, passengers must comply with the destination country requirements so proof of vaccination or PCR test is mandatory if required by the destination country.
The arrival and departure airport is the Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) in Port Bouët.
